Privacy Policy
KNUST pilot version. We collect the minimum we need to run the service, and delete what we don't need to keep.
What we collect, and why
- Phone number or email — to sign you in and send order updates. Phone is how we verify a real person is behind an order.
- Your name— shown to the shop preparing your order, so they know whose document they're printing.
- Approximate location— only if you allow it, to sort shops by distance. We never store a location history; it's used live, on the map screen, and discarded.
- The documents you upload — to compile and print your order. See below for how long these are kept.
- Order and payment records — what you ordered, from which shop, and that it was paid — kept as your order history and for our own accounting. We never see or store your mobile money PIN or full account details; payment itself is handled entirely by Paystack.
Automatic document deletion
Documents are not kept longer than they need to be:
- The files you originally upload are deleted as soon as they've been compiled into the single PDF you approve.
- That compiled PDF is deleted 48 hours after you collect your order.
- If you never collect it, the compiled PDF is deleted automatically after 7 days.
- The order record— what was ordered, when, from which shop, for how much — is kept permanently. It contains no document content, and it's what protects both you and the shop if a dispute ever comes up later.
Who can see what
A shop can only see orders placed with that specific shop, and only for as long as the files exist under the rule above — access is through short-lived links, never a permanent copy. We (PrintPadi) can see order and account records to run the service and resolve disputes. We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not share it beyond what's needed to process your order (for example, Paystack for payment) or if we're legally required to.
Security
Every connection to PrintPadi is encrypted. Access to your own data is restricted at the database level, not just by the screens you see — a bug in the app can't accidentally show you someone else's order.
Ghana's Data Protection Act
We handle personal data as a data controller under Ghana's Data Protection Act (2012) and intend to register with the Data Protection Commission as the pilot grows.
Your choices
Once signed in, you can update your name and phone number from your profile page, and sign out at any time. To ask about or delete your data, reach us on WhatsApp — the link is in the footer of every screen.
